Summary JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision on Imran Khan’s hospitalisation and urged responsible politics and constructive opposition.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to shift Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to hospital, calling it a positive development.
Speaking to the media, Fazlur Rehman was asked about the Supreme Court’s decision regarding Imran Khan’s hospitalisation. He responded briefly, saying that it was “a good thing.”
The JUI-F chief said there should be a reasonable distance between the opposition and the government, stressing the need to avoid unnecessary prejudice, hatred and opposition merely for the sake of opposing.
He said the opposition’s fundamental responsibility was to point out the government’s weaknesses and play a constructive role in helping address them.
Fazlur Rehman emphasised that political matters should be handled with seriousness and responsibility.
Commenting on the issue of provinces, he said problems were emerging because clear lines were being drawn between support and opposition.
He called for further discussion on the matter to determine its principled and practical dimensions and assess whether the political environment was conducive to such a move.
