TEHRAN (Dunya News) — Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has said Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will visit Tehran today for discussions on bilateral matters and issues of mutual interest.

Baghaei said Naqvi’s visit would focus on bilateral relations and follow-up on previous understandings between Pakistan and Iran, particularly those reached at the leadership level.

The Iranian spokesperson said he had no information indicating that Naqvi would carry any message or proposal from the United States during his visit to Tehran.

He added that Pakistan, given its role in regional diplomacy, could use opportunities to discuss regional issues, but there was currently no indication of any specific US initiative being conveyed through the Pakistani minister.

Naqvi is expected to meet Iranian officials during his visit, which comes amid continued diplomatic efforts involving Pakistan, Iran and the United States.
