LAKKI MARWAT (Web Desk) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi narrowly escaped an accident when a government helicopter carrying him to Lakki Marwat was involved in an incident during landing as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launched its long march toward Islamabad.

Afridi had arrived in Lakki Marwat aboard the official helicopter to formally begin the march.

As the helicopter landed, a PTI worker’s party flag came into contact with the helicopter’s blades.

As soon as the helicopter touched down, a large number of PTI workers moved toward the aircraft to welcome the chief minister.

During the commotion, the flag carried by one of the workers became entangled with the helicopter’s rotor blades.

No injuries were reported in the incident, according to the available information.

Afridi later launched the long march from Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat and addressed participants gathered there.

“We are a political force and a political party; we are not people who simply say yes to everything,” he said.

The chief minister also rejected the possibility of imposing governor’s rule or an emergency in the province, saying neither would be accepted.

He further said no military operation would be allowed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reiterating his opposition to such a move.
