RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - A high-level Belarusian delegation led by Secretary of the State Security Council Lieutenant General Alexander Volfovich visited General Headquarters (GHQ) and met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on the regional and global security situation, matters of mutual interest and the scope of bilateral defence cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus.
The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the defence and security sectors and reviewed avenues for further expanding bilateral ties.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan sought to further enhance cooperation with Belarus in the fields of defence and security.
The Belarusian side reiterated its commitment to strengthening defence and security cooperation with Pakistan, according to the ISPR.
The visiting delegation also appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
The meeting comes as Pakistan and Belarus continue to explore avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
