Summary Lahore traffic police will register criminal cases against serious violators, including one-way drivers, speeders, reckless motorists and those concealing vehicle identities.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Lahore traffic police will now register criminal cases against people committing serious traffic violations instead of issuing challans alone.

According to details, cases will be registered against motorists violating one-way restrictions, overspeeding, driving dangerously in a zigzag manner and performing drifting stunts.

The chief traffic officer has also ordered the registration of cases, rather than issuing challans, against those using police flasher lights, unauthorised blue lights and green number plates, according to officials.

Cases will also be registered against individuals who obscure, alter or tamper with number plates or attempt to conceal a vehicle's identity.

According to the chief traffic officer, legal action will also be taken against those blocking roads, overspeeding, driving recklessly or operating vehicles negligently.

Officials said action would also be taken against people involved in dangerous zigzag driving, drifting and hooliganism on the roads.
