LAHORE (Dunya News) – A Lahore court has ordered the release of Saadat Anees, who was arrested in connection with an alleged assault on a petrol pump employee, after the complainant and the accused reached a settlement.

Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Ali Amjad issued a written order discharging Anees from the case following the reconciliation between the two parties. According to the court's decision, the complainant informed the court that the incident had occurred because of a misunderstanding and that he no longer wished to pursue the matter.

Police had sought 10 days of physical remand to interrogate the accused as part of the investigation. However, the magistrate rejected the request in view of the settlement reached between the parties.

The complainant's statement, as recorded in the court order, indicated that both sides had agreed to resolve the dispute and that he did not want further proceedings in the case.

The court subsequently ordered that Anees be discharged from the case and released.

The case had been registered by Chuhang police in connection with the alleged assault on the petrol pump employee.

The court's order follows the agreement between the complainant and the accused. The available report does not provide further details about the circumstances of the alleged assault or the terms of the settlement.
