SYLHET (Dunya News) – Bangladesh tightened the noose around Pakistan as they took lunch at 203-4 – an overall 249-run lead – on third day of the second Test here on Monday.

Veteran batters Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das steadied the innings and remained inseparable at the break. The former was batting at 39 and the latter at 48.
Medium-pacer Khurram Shahzad led the Pakistan bowling attack and took three wickets for 46 runs. Mohammad Abbas claimed Mahmudul Hasan Joy’s scalp conceding 42 runs.
Bangladesh lost Joy for 52, Mominul Haque 30, and Tanzid Hasan four on Sunday.
Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 232 runs in their first innings against Bangladesh.
Pakistan resumed the day at 21 without loss but quickly lost both openers. Azaan Awais scored 13 and Abdullah Fazal made 9.
Captain Shan Masood managed 21 runs, Babar Azam scored 68, Saud Shakeel made 8, Salman Agha 21, and Mohammad Rizwan 13. Hassan Ali scored 18, Sajid Khan 38, Khurram Shahzad 10, while Mohammad Abbas failed to open his account.
For Bangladesh, Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam took three wickets each, while Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two wickets apiece.
