Speaking on a podcast, Hesson said that in preparation for the upcoming World Cup, work is ongoing to develop the strongest possible ODI squad over the next 18 months.

Hesson noted that the recent white-ball training camp provided an excellent opportunity to assess emerging talent. While young players show promise, they require additional time and effort to fully realize their potential.

He stressed the importance of giving youth players opportunities while being patient with their development.

The coach highlighted that the focus is on taking more wickets in the powerplay, improving bowling consistency, and enhancing fitness to boost overall performance.

Looking ahead to the series against Australia, Hesson described it as a prime opportunity for young players to showcase their skills, calling Australia a strong opponent and urging fans to support both the team and its emerging talent.
