Summary Pakistan beat South Korea 2-0 in the Asian Games squash quarter-finals, reaching the semi-finals and securing at least a bronze medal.
NAGOYA (Web Desk) - Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals of the Asian Games men’s team squash competition after defeating South Korea 2-0 in the quarter-finals at Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena.
Ashab gave Pakistan the lead with a dominant 3-0 victory over Jooyoung Na, winning the games 11-5, 11-8 and 11-8. Noor then secured the team’s place in the last four with a 3-1 win over Seojin Oh. Noor won the first two games 11-4 and 11-5 before Seojin took the third 11-8, but the Pakistani player closed out the match 11-2 in the fourth.
The victory guaranteed Pakistan at least a bronze medal in the event, which would be the country’s third overall in squash at the Asian Games. Pakistan, comprising Noor, Ashab, Iqbal Nasir and Asim Khan, will face Hong Kong, China in the semi-final on Thursday.
