Jharkhand YouTuber set his 1 million-rupee home studio on fire after stress from low followers. Family rescued safely; mental health experts warn of social media pressures.
JHARKHAND (Web Desk) - A 27-year-old YouTuber in Jharkhand set his home studio worth 1 million rupees on fire after experiencing severe mental stress over low follower counts on his channel.
Vidhayak Prajapati ran a film editing and digital media production studio at home, which he built using funds from selling his land.
Despite months of effort, his channel failed to attract the expected number of followers, leading to intense psychological pressure.
On Saturday night around 10 PM, Vidhayak locked himself inside the studio and set it ablaze.
Smoke quickly filled the house, trapping his family inside due to iron doors. Alerted neighbors informed authorities, and police broke through the wall to rescue the family safely.
All equipment in the studio, including computers, cameras, sound systems, and lighting, was completely destroyed.
After igniting the fire, Vidhayak jumped out to save himself and was later admitted to a Ranchi hospital for psychological treatment.
The family is currently facing financial difficulties and has appealed to local authorities for assistance.
Experts say the incident highlights the mental health risks young people face due to pressure from social media and digital platforms, where the pursuit of online success can sometimes be detrimental to well-being
