ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Following the conclusion of the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) recent visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the Privatisation Commission to get the privatisation of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) done by June.
According to sources, the government is planning to privatise the national flag carrier by this June instead of October after the IMF asked it to expedite the process.
In addition, the commission has also decided to consult the American National Aviation Authority for the security audit in order to open routes to the United States.
For that, an American delegation is expected to visit Pakistan in March or April.
It must be noted that the premier had earlier directed the Ministries of Finance and Privatisation to finalise the bidding.
