The Pakistani rupee gained strength on Monday as the dollar eased slightly in the interbank market, continuing a modest positive trend in the local currency.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistani rupee edged higher today as the dollar fell slightly in the interbank market.
At the start of the business week, the US dollar dropped by 3 paisa against the rupee, closing at 279.92 PKR in the interbank market.
Yesterday, the dollar had closed at 279.95 PKR. Traders said the rupee is showing signs of recovery after recent fluctuations, giving businesses and importers some relief.
Economists noted that a stronger rupee can ease the burden on imports and help calm inflationary pressures. “The rupee is holding its own,” said a currency market analyst, “but the road ahead remains bumpy.”
