Sindh sets fee up to Rs20 lacs for choice vehicle registration numbers

The Sindh government has introduced new fees for preferred vehicle registration numbers, with special plates costing up to Rs20 lacs under revised Excise rules.
KARACHI (Web Desk) - The Sindh government has fixed the fee for obtaining preferred vehicle registration numbers at up to Rs20 lacs.
The provincial Excise and Taxation Department has issued an official notification stating that vehicle owners wishing to acquire special or choice registration numbers can do so by paying the approved amount, with the maximum fee reaching Rs20 lacs.
According to the notification, those seeking registration numbers 786 and 110 will have to pay Rs20 lacs. The fee for three-digit numbers from 111 to 999 has been set at Rs10 lacs per number.
Similarly, owners applying for numbers ranging from 100 to 900 will be charged Rs5 lacs, while plates carrying numbers 001 to 009 will also cost Rs5 lacs.
All other choice registration numbers will be available for a fee of Rs3 lacs.
