PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has completed preparations for the next fiscal year’s budget and Annual Development Programme (ADP), officials said.
According to reports, no new taxes are expected to be imposed in the upcoming budget, which is likely to be presented as a tax-free financial plan.
The total size of the next budget is estimated to exceed Rs2,300 billion.
For fiscal year 2026-27, the province is expected to receive Rs1,671 billion from the federal government, including Rs159 billion under the head of the war on terror.
An additional Rs107 billion is expected in net hydel profit, of which Rs36 billion will be received in the next fiscal year and Rs71 billion as arrears.
Officials said the province anticipates generating Rs150 billion from its own resources, including Rs99 billion through taxes and Rs51 billion from other sources.
For the merged districts, Rs334 billion is expected to be allocated for ongoing and development projects.
Foreign development assistance is projected to reach Rs160 billion.
For settled districts, a budget worth Rs1,971 billion has been prepared. Of this, Rs1,545 billion will be spent on current expenditures, while Rs426 billion will be allocated for development schemes.
For comparison, the provincial budget for fiscal year 2025-26 stood at Rs2,119 billion, with Rs293 billion allocated for merged districts. During the first three quarters of the current fiscal year, Rs1,025 billion was utilized. The Annual Development Programme for the current year was set at Rs547 billion.
