Summary Pakistan’s stock market remained volatile on Friday, with the KSE-100 moving between gains and losses as investors remained cautious amid prevailing market uncertainty.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed volatile trading on Friday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index moving between gains and losses before closing lower amid selling pressure.

The market opened on a positive note, with the benchmark index initially gaining more than 180 points and reaching around 168,818 points. However, the early momentum failed to hold as selling pressure emerged during the session.

The KSE-100 subsequently slipped into negative territory, reflecting cautious sentiment among investors. Official Pakistan Stock Exchange data showed the index trading below the previous close of 168,636.85 points during the session.

The previous trading session had ended with a decline of 1,332.47 points, leaving the KSE-100 at 168,636.85 points. The index had also moved above the 170,000-point level during that session before retreating amid selling pressure.

Friday's trading remained volatile as investors assessed market conditions following the sharp decline recorded in the previous session.

The market's movement reflected a mixed trading pattern, with buying interest appearing at certain points but failing to sustain the upward momentum. The KSE-100 also remained under pressure in intraday trading, according to PSX market data.

Market participants continued to monitor broader economic and geopolitical developments, which can influence investor sentiment and trading activity.

The decline came after a period of heightened volatility in the benchmark index. Recent trading has seen the KSE-100 move sharply in both directions, highlighting continued caution among investors.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange's official data also showed the broader market under pressure during Friday's session, with several major indices trading lower. (Pakistan Stock Exchange)
