Summary New fuel rates announced for Tuesday
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has reduced petrol prices while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel under its latest petroleum price adjustment.
The revised rates bring petrol below Rs396 per litre, while diesel has edged closer to Rs397. The new prices will apply on Tuesday (October 13, 2026), according to notifications issued by the relevant authorities.
According to the notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs2.98 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs395.32 per litre.
In contrast, high-speed diesel (HSD) has become 61 paisa per litre more expensive, taking its price to Rs396.85 per litre.
The latest adjustment means petrol is now cheaper than diesel, with a difference of Rs1.53 per litre between the two fuels.
The latest changes come under the government's revised petroleum pricing mechanism, which allows fuel prices to be adjusted more frequently in response to movements in international markets.
Under the system, OGRA calculates prices using a seven-day average of international market rates. Changes in global benchmark prices, premiums and other associated costs can influence the rates announced for consumers.
