Summary New rates take effect from Wednesday midnight

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has increased petrol and high-speed diesel prices under the latest fuel rate adjustment, reversing some of the reductions announced earlier.

Petrol has become 88 paisa more expensive per litre, while diesel has risen by 53 paisa.

The revised rates will take effect on October 21, 2026, under the daily petroleum pricing mechanism.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol has increased from Rs381.14 to Rs382.02 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also gone up, from Rs389.27 to Rs389.80 per litre.

The government has moved to daily fuel price reviews to reflect fluctuations in international oil markets more frequently. Under the framework, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) calculates prices using the average international market rates recorded over the preceding seven days.
