Summary Following the revision, petrol will cost Rs377.91 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs399.82 per litre

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has increased petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices by Rs1.85 and Rs1.75 per litre, respectively, citing fluctuations in the international oil market.

Following the revision, petrol will cost Rs377.91 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs399.82 per litre.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised prices will remain in effect until October 29.

The latest increase is expected to add to fuel expenses for motorists, transport operators and businesses that rely on petroleum products for their daily operations.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has begun publishing daily petroleum prices on its website to improve transparency and facilitate the quicker transmission of changes in international oil prices to consumers.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily prices were calculated using a seven-day average of international market rates, in line with international practices.

The revised pricing mechanism is intended to reflect movements in global oil markets more promptly.

However, the latest adjustment means consumers will continue to face higher fuel costs, with potential implications for transportation and other sectors dependent on petroleum products.
