LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said on Friday completion of Gaddafi Stadium project in a record time was the result of teamwork.

Speaking to journalists ahead of the spectacular opening of the stadium after its overhaul in 114 days, a jubilant Naqvi said it’s a historic day for the PCB as well as the people of Lahore.

“I am thankful to everyone who helped materialise this dream. A lot many people worked day in and day out to make it a new-look stadium,” he said.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would inaugurate the stadium. “I will request the prime minister to announce reward for those who contributed to revamp of the stadium,” said the minister.

Media also played role at the international level to promote the stadium project, he added.

The PCB chairman said all eyes were on Champions Trophy. He said Rizwan was a talented captain and he would lead the team to the best of his abilities. “Our prayers and wishes with the Pakistan team to lift the trophy,” he said.
