DUNEDIN (Web Desk) - Pakistan opener Hasan Nawaz, who made his T20I debut in the first game of the series against New Zealand, was dismissed for yet another duck at Dunedin on Tuesday.

Nawaz, who was one of the several new faces in Pakistan’s squad for the New Zealand tour, played his first international game on Sunday. In the T20I at Christchurch, Nawaz was one of three debutants for the side but he did not have a memorable outing as he was sent back for a two-ball duck by Jacob Duffy.

Pakistan were all out for 91 as they continued their poor run in the format, having last won against a higher-ranked team in 2022. Their struggles continued in the second game as well, after managing 135-9 in 15 overs in a reduced game.

How many players have scored ducks in their first two T20Is?

Nawaz departed for a duck yet again, failing to play the extra bounce from Duffy in the first over. He became just the sixth player from a full-member country to be dismissed for two straight ducks in his first two T20I innings.

Nawaz is also the second Pakistani player to the unwanted record. Arshad Iqbal, who made his T20I debut in 2021, was sent back for no score on his debut against Bangladesh. He repeated the score in the Asian Games against Hong Kong two years later, also his second T20I, falling for golden ducks on both occasions.

Pakistan failed to defend the target, allowing New Zealand to chase down the total with 11 balls to spare.
