KARACHI (Dunya News) - Former captain Shahid Afridi has strongly criticised the selection changes in the national cricket team.
Afridi questioned the decision to send players with only 10 to 11 first-class matches to New Zealand. He pointed out that fast bowlers were selected where spinners were needed, while four spinners were included in the squad where only one was required.
He further lamented that players are not properly trained at the required level. He observed that most batsmen seem to be imitating his aggressive style instead of developing solid techniques.
Afridi also commented on the captaincy decisions, stating that Babar Azam was given ample opportunities to lead the team, while Mohammad Rizwan was only entrusted with the role for six months.
