COLOMBO (Dunya News) - Pakistan now face a must-win situation in their final group-stage fixture to qualify for the Super Eight stage after suffering humiliating defeat to India in the ICC T20 World Cup.

India booked their place in the Super Eight from Group A after defeating Pakistan by 61 runs.

The loss has severely dented Pakistan’s net run rate (NRR).

Following the defeat, Pakistan’s NRR dropped from 0.932 to minus 0.403, pushing them below the United States in the points table.

The USA have secured two wins from four matches, earning four points with a net run rate of 0.788.

Pakistan will play their final group match against Namibia on February 18, and victory is mandatory to keep their Super Eight qualification hopes alive.

It is pertinent to mention that an upset by Namibia would knock Pakistan out of the race for the Super Eight stage.
