CHAKWAL (Dunya News) – Greed knows no bounds and it can be borne out by a tragic incident in Chakwal, where a man kept his two cousins (siblings) locked up in a cellar for two long years.

Police got the scent of the crime on the basis of an anonymous letter and eventually reached the siblings, only to find the girl dead due to starvation and cold.

Reports say the Neelah police in Chakwal recovered a 32-year-old man and his 26-year-old sister from captivity after two years.

They conducted a raid on the basis of information shared in a letter and found Jabeen Bibi, 26, dead.

The man, identified as Hassan Raza, could not utter a word as he was in trauma. He was admitted to hospital for treatment.
Police found the two siblings in a cellar without clothes, food or anything to sleep.

Police quoted the letter as having pointed out that the siblings owned costly land and their parents had died.

The letter, addressed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, claimed that the siblings had been held hostage by their cousin who wanted to grab their land.

The suspect is also alleged to have administered drugs to his cousins.

Police claim to have registered a case and are investigating.
