Veteran actor Pravina Deshpande, known for quietly shaping some of Hindi cinema’s most emotional moments, has died at the age of 60 after a long battle with cancer.
Her family confirmed the news through her official Instagram account, saying she died on February 17.
The cremation was held the same day at the Hindu Crematorium in Chakala Parsiwada, Andheri East.
Deshpande may not have been a headline star, but her face was familiar to millions.
She shared screen space with Salman Khan in the 2011 hit Ready, and later appeared in Ek Villain and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran.
Even in small roles, she brought a quiet depth that stayed with audiences.
On television, she became part of daily life through shows like Ghar Ek Mandir, Kumkum, Karam Apnaa Apnaa, and Kulfi Kumar Bajewala.
Colleagues say she was disciplined, generous, and always willing to guide younger actors. Tributes poured in within hours of the announcement.
Her final screen appearance was in Taskaree, starring Emraan Hashmi.
