(Web Desk) - Prominent Pakistani actors Fahad Mustafa and Atiqa Odho have put an end to their brief war of words after both stars publicly apologised to each other.
The exchange began during a private television show where Atiqa Odho suggested that Fahad Mustafa should now work with actresses of his own age. When asked to clarify her remarks, she explained that she meant women who are closer to his age group.
Responding to the criticism on his own show, Fahad addressed Atiqa and questioned her comments. In a light-hearted but controversial tone, he remarked that “Atiqa Apa should go for some extra surgeries so that I can share the screen with her,” a statement that quickly drew backlash on social media.
Netizens criticised both actors for using inappropriate and disrespectful language, turning what may have been intended as humour into a heated online debate.
Later, seeking to defuse the situation, Atiqa Odho took to Instagram and issued a public apology. She said that humorous remarks by actors are sometimes misunderstood and taken negatively. “If Fahad was hurt by my comments, I apologise to him from the bottom of my heart. I truly did not mean any harm. I also request people not to drag this matter further,” she wrote.
Subsequently, Fahad Mustafa also apologised to Atiqa on his show. He praised her as a “super gorgeous lady” and said he regretted his remarks. “I genuinely feel sorry for what I said and apologise to Atiqa Apa,” he stated.
