Passing marks will increase from 33% to 40% in Matric, Inter
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh becomes the first province in Pakistan to approve the grading policy, which will take effect in 2025.
The Sindh government introduced a new grading system for matriculation and intermediate levels, replacing traditional marks and positions, it is reported.
The passing marks will increase from 33% to 40% next year.
Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) chairman, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, announced that under the new system, first, second, and third positions will be eliminated.
Instead, top performers will receive an "Excellent A" grade for scores of 95 and above, while an "A" will denote scores of 90. Other categories include "Very Good B" for 80, "B" for 75, and "Fair B" for 70, with a "C" grade for scores above 60.
However, students scoring below 40 receive an "Unsatisfactory F" grade.
