ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Mufti Taqi Usmani said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment saved the country from political turmoil as it resolved longstanding issues of usury, federal sharia court and the madaris.
He further expressed his gratitude, stating that after a challenging period, good news surfaced. He praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his wisdom in guiding the nation, leading to the achievement of several Islamic goals.
Mufti Usmani added that the country was saved from a political crisis, and he prayed for the JUI-F chief's continued success.

The government has included the JUI's proposed amendment in the 26th constitutional amendment, which mandates the complete abolition of interest in Pakistan by January 1, 2028.
