Lawyers to launch movement against constitutional amendment: Hamid Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and senior lawyer Hamid Khan on Monday said the lawyers would launch a countrywide movement against the 26th constitutional amendment, Dunya News reported.
Speaking to media outside the Supreme Court, Hamid Khan said: "We [lawyers] reject this amendment and consider it unconstitutional." He added that after Oct 25, the judiciary would work to protect itself.
He pledged to form an action committee involving members from the High Court Bar Association, Supreme Court Bar and district courts to devise a plan of action.
Hamid Khan also demanded that the federal government appoint senior puisne judge Mansoor Ali Shah as the Chief Justice of Pakistan. "We will not accept anyone else as chief justice," he said.
