LAHORE (Dunya News) - The school timings have been changed across Lahore in the wake of rising environmental pollution due to smog.
Punjab Environment Protection Department directed relevant departments to take measures amid rise in environmental pollution.
As per notification, the schools will open at 8:45 am, this new timings would be enforced from October 28 till January 31.
The assemblies would be held at the classrooms and every outdoor activity had been banned.
The fireworks have also been prohibited till Jan 31, 2025.
The public had been directed to limit outdoor exposure and wear masks when stepping outside.
Homes’ windows and doors must be closed to avoid smog and use air purifiers.
Senior provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has directed the public to cooperate with the government in the eradication of smog.
She advised citizens to report any vehicles and factories emitting smoke on the helpline 1373, the EPA would take action on it.
