LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore has been ranked the second most polluted city of the world raising alarms for health.
The average smog rate has been recorded at 235.
The air quality index of the Johar Town area of the provincial capital is 410, 276 of Syed Marat Ali Road, while the air quality index of the DHA area is 260.
Due to increasing levels of air pollution, health issues such as soar throat, breathing problems and eye irritation have been exacerbated.
Medical experts have instructed citizens to wear masks and check the air quality index while leaving their homes, keep windows and doors closed and avoid unnecessary travel.
On the other hand, the minimum temperature of Lahore today is expected to reach 21°C while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 33 °C.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif issued orders to fight against the smog situation and directed all the departments to strictly implement the environmental laws.
