ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that despite facing hardships, PTI took the initiative for negotiations.
While speaking to the media at Islamabad Court, Barrister Gohar said that PTI had presented its demands to the government, but the government delayed the talks.
"If the government was serious, it would have responded promptly. Instead, they said they would give their response on the January 28 in the committee room," he remarked.
He added that the PTI had proposed the formation of a judicial commission, but the government did not respond. "The government never intended negotiations to succeed. Despite all the hardships imposed on us, Imran Khan still took the initiative for dialogue," he asserted.
If the government had wanted to form a parliamentary committee instead of a judicial commission to investigate the incidents of May 9 and November 26, it should have made such an offer to PTI, he continued.
Earlier, the PTI chairman denied any back-door liason with any-one. "No such talks had taken place before and were not taking place now."
Barrister Gohar clarified that apart from the Army Chief, no other meetings had taken place.
