JEDDAH (Dunya News) – The Saudi government on Thursday suspended the requirement for meningitis vaccine for Umrah pilgrims.

Reports indicate that pilgrims can now travel to Saudi Arabia without the need for the meningitis vaccine.

The Saudi Civil Aviation Authority has notified all airlines about this change.

Previously, Saudi Arabia had mandated that Umrah pilgrims receive the vaccine 10 days before travel.

However, a significant shortage of the meningitis vaccine in Punjab had left many pilgrims struggling to obtain it.
