Fazlur Rehman said that development and prosperity is not possible without peace.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday declared that "we are loyal to the state and the constitution of Pakistan."
Addressing the Pashtun FATA National Consultative Jirga at Nishtar Hall here, he said that "we are against violence in politics and we gathered here to seek peace."
There is no peace in this region, he said and added that development and prosperity is not possible without peace.
The JUI-F chief said that his party was not against decision of integration of erstwhile tribal areas (FATA). He stated that the tribal people were not consulted before the merger.
The merger was aimed at bringing peace in the region which has not yet been achieved, he said.
The Maulana said that everything will be safe if there is peace in the region. "A nation deprived of peace is deprived of everything," he concluded.
