ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed hope that bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US would gain momentum during the tenure of President Donald Trump.

He expressed it when US Chargé D'affaires Natalie Baker called on him when they discussed matters of mutual interest, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, discussions were also held regarding Naqvi's recent visit to the US. The minister said his meetings with members of the US Congress were very positive.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that the discussions focused on developing a joint strategy to combat terrorism and further strengthening bilateral relations. He emphasised that terrorism is an international issue, and the global community must work together to address it.

The interior minister also highlighted that Pakistan and the US have excellent relations, which have spanned several decades.

The US cooperation in enhancing the capacity of Pakistan's law enforcement agencies held great importance, he added.

Mohsin Naqvi also invited the acting US ambassador to attend the Spring Festival programme in Islamabad.
