ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is not ready to accept the successful visit of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir to the United Kingdom.

Addressing a press conference in the capital, he said the COAS received warm welcome in the UK ‘as the world acknowledges the professional capabilities of army’.

Tarar said only a handful of elements are running hateful campaigns on the social media as he added, the patriots have dismissed these trolls by taking a stand for their country's sake.

He added that Pakistan was making a rapid progress and the economy was showing positive signs lately mentioning that remittances had shown an increase of 32 percent.

Praising the overseas Pakistanis, he said their role in the revival of economy was praiseworthy while highlighting that on the other hand, the state had to deal with a group led by extremist design.

Tarar said the state has all the evidence which established the PTI’s role about the May 9 event which saw attacks on security installations and vandalization of the Jinnah House.

Responding to a question, he said the PTI founder’s letter to the IMF was against the country’s interests.
