ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said Imran Khan has been deprived of rights in jail.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, the PTI secretary general stated that former prime minister Imran Khan was not being given his due rights in prison.

“I met Imran Khan in jail. He is in good health,” said Raja, adding that he was also allowed a phone call with his children few days ago.

Raja expressed concern that Imran Khan had not been permitted to meet his wife and revealed that Khan asked him to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, as he was not receiving his rights despite being a former prime minister.

Discussing political matters, Salman Akram Raja briefed Imran Khan about his recent visit to Sindh, highlighting the ongoing protests due to water shortages. He said PTI would fight for Sindh’s rights and criticised the increasing dominance of feudal lords in the province.

He further said that Imran Khan had shown full confidence in Junaid Akbar and stressed the need for strict action against those working against the party's interests.

He also confirmed that Omar Ayub met the chief justice with Imran Khan’s approval, reassuring him that the party remains united under his leadership.

Additionally, Raja warned that those voting against the party’s directives would face expulsion. He affirmed that there would be no change regarding Sher Afzal Marwat's decisions.

On a different note, Raja shared that Imran Khan was deeply saddened by the current state of cricket in the country.
