RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Senior PTI leaders were unable to meet the party's founder at Adiala Jail despite prior arrangements.

A delegation comprising Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, Gohar Ali, Asad Qaiser, Junaid Akbar, Hamid Raza, and several other party leaders was forced to leave without a meeting.

Meanwhile, heavy rain lashed Adiala Jail and its surrounding areas. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ministers Sohail Afridi, Aqib Ullah, and other provincial officials also departed without meeting the PTI founder.

Speaking to the media, Omar Ayub expressed his frustration, stating that they had been waiting outside the jail for over an hour but were denied permission to meet. "Our meeting was sanctioned by court orders. The PTI founder had personally provided the names of six party leaders," he said.

He further claimed that the jail authorities had deliberately blocked their meeting. "Despite the stormy weather, we remained standing in the rain, but the administration refused to allow us inside.

Omar Ayub also criticized the legal proceedings surrounding the PTI founder’s incarceration, alleging that court hearings were being unnecessarily delayed. "I had raised these concerns directly with the Chief Justice of Pakistan, highlighting the systemic delays being imposed by subordinate courts," he said.

He reiterated that PTI leaders had formally appealed to the Chief Justice regarding the alleged breach of the party founder's fundamental rights.

Ayub further accused the ruling parties of undermining democratic principles. "Today, the opposition spoke in defense of constitutional and legal supremacy, while PML-N and PPP remain compromised entities, manipulating Form-47 to their advantage," he asserted.
