Criticizes increase in cabinet size, calling it a burden on the economy
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Awam Pakistan Party (APP) Secretary General Miftah Ismail has labelled the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as a "family-run party."
Speaking on Dunya News’ program Baat Niklegi, Miftah criticized the government for trying to block the national conference and stopping Mahmood Achakzai, a longtime ally of Nawaz Sharif, from speaking.
He pointed to internal conflicts within the opposition alliance and blamed the previous PTI government for causing a monthly loss of Rs110 billion by holding back fuel prices.
Miftah also slammed the growing size of the cabinet, calling it an economic burden.
He revealed that he was removed from his position to make way for Ishaq Dar due to family ties.
Following the no-confidence motion, Miftah said he advised Shehbaz Sharif to either negotiate with the IMF or resign.
Rejecting claims of foreign interference, he clarified that the US played no part in the PTI government’s ousting.
