ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Leader of the opposition in National Assembly and PTI leader Omar Ayub said that the government’s claim of economic stability is false.

He was addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday with PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Senator Shibli Faraz.

“The economy is going through the worst situation these days. The industry and agriculture sectors are on the decline,” lamented the opposition leader.

He also highlighted the ongoing crisis of wheat cultivation and its production.

The opposition leader said that the IT and telecom sectors are also on the decline while the economy is shrinking with every passing day.

“The devaluation of Pakistani rupee has led to an additional debt burden of Rs120 billion,” he added.

Meanwhile, PTI’s Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that 200 cases were launched against PTI founder Imran Khan.

“We want Imran Khan’s release as per the law and constitution and therefore we are reaching out to all the parties of the opposition,” Raja said.

Senator Shibli Faraz also criticized the PML-N and PPP for ruining the economy and other state institutions.
