Mayo Hospital gets new MS, CEO after CM Maryam's surprise visit

Prof Haroon and Dr Ihtisham have been appointed as new CEO and MS respectively
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Prof Haroon Hamid and Dr Ihtishamul Haq have been appointed as new Chief Executive Officer and Medical Superintendent (MS) of Mayo Hospital respectively.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave the approval for both the appointments.
Earlier, the chief minister had removed both the CEO and MS of Mayo Hospital over ‘negligence’ during the surprise visit to medical facility.
Prof Haroon Hamid has replaced Prof Ahsan Nauman as CEO.
Prof Hamid was appointed acting CEO for three months while Dr Ihtishamul Haq will be the new MS of Mayo Hospital.
Dr Ihtisham has replaced Dr Faisal Masood as MS.

Earlier, he was serving as Principal Medical Officer in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
The appointments were made after surprise visit of CM Maryam Nawaz.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister visited the emergency block, TB and Chest ward, ICU cardiology and other areas of the hospital. She also inquired after the patients and prayed for their speedy recovery.
The patients and their attendants complained about a lack of facilities in the hospital.
“The hospital administration is completely unaware of what is going on here,” said the chief minister while directing immediate removal of the medical superintendent and CEO.
Showing her displeasure over poor facilities in the hospital, she said that public was suffering but no one was paying attention.
