ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan on Friday filed a contempt of court plea in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the federal home secretary, the Punjab home secretary and the Adiala jail superintendent for not arranging meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders with incarcerated party founder Imran Khan despite court orders.

The petition was moved through PTI’s counsel Shoaib Shaheen and other senior lawyers of the party.

The petitioner stated that he was the opposition leader in the NA and representing the biggest political party of the country. He said he needed guidance and consultations from the PTI founder for party and legal matters.

It was further pleaded that the court had ordered to make SOPs for meetings with the PTI founder on Nov 22, 2024 but the leaders had not been allowed to meet the incarcerated founder.

The petitioner requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the respondents while seeking assurance from the court for arrangement of meeting of PTI leaders with former premier Khan.
