RAWALPINDI – Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of 16 terrorists trying to enter the country from the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan’s Ghulam Khan Kili area, said ISPR.

According to the ISPR, security forces monitored the movement of the infiltrators on the night of March 22-23 and launched a swift and effective response, killing all 16 terrorists in an intense exchange of fire.

Pakistan has reiterated its demand for the Afghan interim government to strengthen border security and prevent the use of Afghan territory for terrorism against Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the forces for their successful operation, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to national security and the fight against terrorism.
