ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Dunya Media Group Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood hosted a reception in Islamabad on Monday in honour of a US Congressional delegation comprising Representatives Jack Bergman, Tom Suozzi, and Jonathan Jackson. 

The members of US embassy were also present on the occasion.

Dunya Media Group Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, noting that Chicago and Lahore are sister cities.

The US Congressional delegation described their visit to Pakistan as successful and positive. They shared that the trip offered valuable learning opportunities and expressed a commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-US relations.

They highlighted Pakistan’s strong investment potential and affirmed that the US would collaborate with Pakistan on counterterrorism efforts.

Pakistani-American businessman Shahid Khan praised the visit, calling it one of the most impactful US delegations to visit Pakistan in recent times. He expressed confidence that the trip would help solidify bilateral ties.

The US Chargé d’Affaires said this was their first visit since the Trump administration. He thanked the Pakistani government and Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir for their support.

The elegant dinner reception was attended by prominent personalities including US-based Pakistani Democratic leader Tahir Javed, businessman Shahid Khan, former caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, PM’s Adviser Haroon Akhtar, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha, former minister Fawad Chaudhry, former federal minister Naveed Qamar, Standing Committee Chairman Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan, Senator Abdul Qadir, members of the press, and other notable figures.
