ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation of the Autism Centre of Excellence in Islamabad, marking a significant step toward the empowerment and development of special children.
During the ceremony, the prime minister announced the provision of 15 vehicles to support the operations of the new centre. He emphasized that the project, originally planned to be completed in two years, should now be finished within one year.
The PM also highlighted the immense potential of special children, citing examples of a child who has created remarkable music compositions and another who has spread love across Pakistan through musical performances.
“Special children are also the children of our nation. Their training and development are our collective responsibility. Anyone contributing to this cause will be rewarded in both this world and the hereafter,” the premier added.
He expressed appreciation for all those contributing to the project, emphasizing that it is a shared responsibility to guide and support the children.
Prior to the ceremony, the premier was briefed on the project and met with children currently undergoing training at the centre.
This project is part of the government’s broader efforts to support children with special needs, ensuring they receive equal opportunities to grow, learn, and contribute to the nation.
