Punjab Cabinet approved hundreds of new government jobs across excise, crime control, tourism police and health sectors in a meeting chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz.

LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Punjab Cabinet on Friday approved hundreds of new vacancies across multiple departments, including Crime Control, Excise, Tourism Police, the Home Department, and others, to strengthen governance and public service delivery.

The approvals were granted during the 32nd cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The cabinet sanctioned the recruitment of 216 constables in the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, alongside the creation of 1,000 new positions in the Crime Control Department. It also approved 980 new posts for the Murree Tourism Police, additional vacancies in the Information Technology and Innovation Department, and contract-based appointments in the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP).

Additionally, the cabinet allowed continued employment of staff in the ICT Cell of the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department and relaxed recruitment restrictions in the Tourism, Archaeology, Museums and related departments.

The meeting also approved rules for the selection of vice chancellors of public medical universities and sanctioned the post of Director Agriculture in the Auqaf Department.
