Police playing frontline role in fight against terrorism: CM Afridi

Chairing a high level meeting to review the law and order situation in the province, Sohail Afridi said that the protection of the lives and property of the public must be ensured.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi on Monday said that the police is playing a frontline role in the fight against terrorism and his government will provide them with all possible support.
He stated this while chairing a high level meeting to review the law and order situation in the province. Addressing the meeting, Sohail Afridi said that the protection of the lives and property of the public must be ensured.
Sohail Afridi said that foolproof security arrangements should be ensured for worship places and religious gatherings during the holy month of Ramazan. He said that the relevant institutions should work under a clear strategy, and added that the provincial government will provide full resources to them.
The Chief Minister said that the effective use of available resources must be ensured and that all relevant institutions should remain prepared at all times to deal with any untoward incident.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, Additional IG CTD, ACS Home, and Additional IG Special Branch.
