ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has decided to conduct a survey of river embankments ahead of the monsoon season.
In a move to prepare for potential flood situations, the government has approved a joint survey to strengthen protective measures.
The Federal Flood Commission has issued a formal letter to irrigation departments of all four provinces.
Authorities have been directed to carry out a joint inspection of embankments, identify any weaknesses, and propose immediate corrective measures.
The commission also instructed provincial officials to prepare a comprehensive report based on the survey and submit it for timely allocation of funds and initiation of repair work.
The letter clearly states that all details and reports must be submitted by May 15 to finalize preventive measures before the monsoon season.
