Summary Justice Waheed Khan heard the bail application of accused Israr Majeed, who is alleged to have made an immoral video of the doctor and used it for extortion.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected the bail plea of a suspect accused of blackmailing a female doctor by secretly recording an inappropriate video of her.
During the hearing, Justice Waheed Khan heard the bail application of accused Israr Majeed, who is alleged to have made an immoral video of the doctor and used it for extortion. A Deputy Attorney General, representing the Federal Investigation Agency, appeared before the court.
According to the prosecution, the suspect had worked as a driver at a private hospital. After being dismissed from his job, he allegedly conspired with a security guard to install cameras in the washroom of the doctor’s house.
He then reportedly recorded inappropriate footage and demanded Rs2.5 million from the female doctor. The FIA arrested the suspect following a complaint filed by the doctor’s son.
The defense counsel argued that the accused has been in jail for 10 months and that the truth would emerge during the trial.
However, the court dismissed the bail request, observing that the nature of the alleged act did not make the suspect eligible for bail.
