KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi police have implement a strict security plan for protection of the alleged 'Cocaine Queen' Anmol alias Pinky amid concerns over possible threats to her life, Dunya News reported on Sunday.
According to police sources, more than 40 personnel have been deployed, including one SP, two SDPOs, three SHOs, and female officers. They will monitor the accused closely and perform duties in two shifts.
Authorities stated that continuous CCTV monitoring of the lock-up, surrounding areas, and entry and exit routes is underway. Due to security concerns, snipers have been stationed on rooftops around the lock-up, while additional police personnel have been deployed at the entrances and exits of Karachi’s Baghdadi Police Station.
Similarly, instructions have been issued that all food provided to the accused must be thoroughly checked before being given to her. To deal with power outages, backup generators have been ordered to remain operational at all times. The SP Lyari has been assigned supervision of the court transfer operation.
The SDPO Baghdadi has been given command of the security operation, while the SHOs of Baghdadi, Risala, and Garden have been appointed as ground in-charges. Rapid response teams will remain on alert to handle any untoward incident, and police personnel have been instructed to immediately report any suspicious activity.
Police officials further stated that only authorized persons will be allowed access to the accused. The movement of unrelated persons around the court and lock-up has been restricted.
It is pertinent to mention that extraordinary security arrangements have been made in view of the sensitive situation, and a special squad has been formed to escort the accused to and from court.
