ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the promotion of industry and the attraction of foreign investment are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth in Pakistan.
Chairing a review meeting on investment enhancement and broader economic reforms, the Prime Minister emphasised that strengthening the industrial base and increasing exports remain top government priorities.
He stated that policy measures aimed at boosting industrial production and expanding export capacity are central to long-term economic stability and public welfare. He added that reforms across various sectors of industry and trade are being designed to ensure broader economic benefits for the population.
The Prime Minister further noted that the government is actively working on a comprehensive strategy to meet future energy needs through alternative sources. He highlighted the importance of energy conservation and the development of a robust electric vehicle policy to support affordable and sustainable transport solutions.
He also stressed the need for greater use of modern technology across sectors, calling for meaningful consultation between ministries and experts to improve policy formulation and implementation. According to him, transparency, efficiency, and inter-ministerial coordination remain key priorities for governance.
The meeting was briefed on several policy proposals currently under consideration. Senior government officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister and relevant federal ministers, attended the session.
